Babson College has officially named Kathleen Jaeger its new head women’s lacrosse coach, bringing in a rising coaching talent following a successful three-year stint at Stevens Institute of Technology. The announcement was made by Babson Associate Vice President for Athletics and Athletics Advancement Mike Lynch. Jaeger arrives in Babson Park after helping guide Stevens to three consecutive MAC Freedom championships, three NCAA Tournament appearances, and a combined 50-14 record from 2024 through 2026. Originally joining the Ducks as an assistant coach and offensive coordinator in 2023, Jaeger was promoted to associate head coach ahead of the 2025-26 season and played a significant role in developing one of the more productive offenses in Women’s DeeThreeLax.

“I am thrilled to welcome Kathleen to the Babson Athletics family as our next head women’s lacrosse coach,” said Lynch. “Her success as a coach and a student-athlete combined with her energy, competitive drive and passion for mentoring young women will have an immediate impact on our program as we strive to build upon a long tradition of success.”

During her three seasons at Stevens, Jaeger helped establish the Ducks as a consistent contender in the MAC Freedom and on the national stage. Stevens captured three straight conference tournament championships and reached the NCAA Tournament in each season, highlighted by the program’s first-ever Sweet 16 appearance in 2025. While the team’s postseason success was impressive, Jaeger’s impact was particularly evident on the offensive side of the field. Under her direction, the Ducks ranked among the top 35 nationally in scoring offense in each of her three seasons, improving their offensive production year after year.

In 2024, Stevens finished 17-4 while ranking 20th nationally in shooting percentage (.506) and 34th in goals per game. The Ducks took another step forward in 2025, averaging 15.68 goals per game while ranking 14th nationally in assists per game (8.64), helping fuel a 17-5 campaign and a historic run to the NCAA Sweet 16. That offensive progression continued in 2026, when Stevens ranked 13th nationally in scoring offense (15.95 goals per game), eighth in assists per game (9.14), and 17th in shooting percentage (.498).

Beyond the team accomplishments, Jaeger also helped mentor seven IWLCA All-Americans, 16 All-Boardwalk Region selections, and 29 all-conference honorees during her time with the Ducks. Her ability to develop offensive talent and build efficient, high-scoring units will be a major asset as she takes over the Babson program.

Before making her mark on the sidelines, Jaeger put together an impressive collegiate career at The College of New Jersey, where she was a standout athlete in lacrosse, indoor track and field, and cross country from 2015 through 2019. On the lacrosse field, Jaeger helped lead the Lions to four consecutive NJAC championships and four NCAA Tournament appearances, including trips to the national semifinals in 2017 and 2018. A two-time All-NJAC and two-time All-Region selection, Jaeger earned NJAC Midfielder of the Year honors and IWLCA Second-Team All-America recognition in 2018 after recording 55 goals, 16 assists, and 71 points. She finished her collegiate lacrosse career with 169 goals, 43 assists, and 212 points across 75 games, establishing herself as one of the program’s most productive players.

As a member of TCNJ’s track and field program, she was a two-time All-American in the 800 meters, a three-time NCAA Indoor Championships qualifier, and a five-time NJAC champion. Her experience competing at a high level across multiple sports, combined with her championship background, provides a strong foundation as she begins her first collegiate head coaching opportunity.

Prior to joining Stevens, Jaeger served as the head girls lacrosse coach at The Hun School of Princeton from 2020 through 2023, where she helped guide the Raiders to a 10-win season in 2021. She has also been involved with Triple Threat (T3) Elite Lacrosse since 2015 and joined Corrigan Sports as a New Jersey All-America Coach in 2022. A native of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, Jaeger earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and iSTEM in 2019 before completing her master’s degree in special education at TCNJ in 2020.

Jaeger expressed her excitement about taking over the Beavers and continuing to build upon the program’s tradition of success.

“I am genuinely humbled and honored for the opportunity to lead the women’s lacrosse program at Babson,” said Jaeger. “It is clear that Babson is a special place with immense school pride and is committed to helping its students thrive both academically and athletically.”

Her hiring has also drawn praise from those who have worked alongside her throughout her coaching career. Stevens head coach Madeline Buechli credited Jaeger’s role in elevating the Ducks’ offense, highlighting her knowledge of the game, dedication, and development as a coach. Longtime TCNJ head coach Sharon Pfluger also praised Jaeger’s leadership, work ethic, and ability to connect with student-athletes, expressing confidence in her transition to the head coaching ranks.

With Jaeger now at the helm, Babson enters a new chapter with a coach who brings championship experience, a strong offensive background, and a proven ability to develop talent at the DeeThreeLax level. Her success at Stevens, particularly in building one of the nation’s most efficient offenses, makes her an intriguing addition to the NEWMAC coaching landscape.

As the Beavers prepare for the 2027 season, one of the biggest storylines will be how quickly Jaeger can implement her offensive philosophy and build upon Babson’s established tradition of success. After helping Stevens become a consistent NCAA Tournament contender, Jaeger will now look to make her mark as a head coach and keep Babson competing among the top programs in Womens DeeThreelax.
