Curry College has found its next leader. The Curry Athletic Department announced Monday that Chris Piatelli has been named the newest head coach of the Colonels men’s lacrosse program, bringing more than 15 years of coaching experience to Milton. Piatelli comes to Curry after most recently serving as an assistant coach, offensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator at Springfield College. He joined the Pride staff in 2025 after previous stops at Roanoke, MIT and RPI.

“I’m incredibly honored, humbled, and grateful for the opportunity to lead the Curry College men’s lacrosse program,” Piatelli said. “I want to sincerely thank Athletic Director Vinnie Eruzione for his trust and confidence in me throughout this process.”

Piatelli has built an extensive résumé throughout the DeeThreeLax landscape. Prior to Springfield, Piatelli served as the offensive and recruiting coordinator at Roanoke College, where he also spent three months as the Maroons’ interim head coach. Before arriving in Salem, Piatelli held the same offensive and recruiting coordinator roles at MIT. He also spent two seasons on the staff at RPI, helping the Engineers earn one of the program’s biggest wins during his tenure with a victory over then-No. 1 RIT.

“From the beginning, it was clear that Curry is a place committed to developing outstanding student-athletes both on and off the field,” Piatelli said. “I’m excited to build on the program’s foundation, foster a culture of accountability, competitiveness, and family, and help our players reach their full potential. I can’t wait to get to work with our student-athletes, alumni, and the entire Curry community.”

Piatelli’s coaching experience extends well beyond the college game. Throughout his career, he has worked with the New England Twisters, New England Blazers, Central Catholic High School, Middlesex Bears Lacrosse, Derby Academy and Noble & Greenough School. Piatelli has also gained experience at the professional level, working with the New York Atlas of the Premier Lacrosse League. Altogether, he brings more than 15 years of lacrosse coaching experience to Curry.

Before beginning his coaching career, Piatelli was a two-sport collegiate athlete at Hamilton, competing in both men’s lacrosse and men’s hockey.

For Curry Athletic Director Vinnie Eruzione, Piatelli’s combination of experience, recruiting background and familiarity with the New England lacrosse scene made him stand out during the search. “Coach Piatelli quickly became someone we were interested in, as his resume speaks for itself,” Eruzione said. “We look forward to him taking the men’s lacrosse program to new heights.”

Piatelli now takes over a Curry program entering a new era following the departure of John Carroll, who recently accepted the head coaching position at Emmanuel College.

With stops at Springfield, Roanoke, MIT and RPI already on his resume, Piatelli will now get his opportunity to lead a DeeThreeLax program of his own as the Colonels look to take the next step in the CNE.
