DeeThreeLax has gone international. The inaugural 2026 Pan-American Men’s Lacrosse Championship is underway in Kingston, Jamaica, bringing together nine national teams with much more than a continental title on the line. The event serves as a qualifier for the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in Tokyo, with the top five finishers earning a spot in next summer’s 16-team field.

The United States, Canada, Haudenosaunee, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and the U.S. Virgin Islands make up the field. And scattered throughout those rosters are plenty of familiar names for DeeThreeLax fans. From current standouts to former All-Americans and program record holders, more than 20 players with DeeThreeLax connections are representing their countries in Jamaica.

Here are the DeeThreeLax connections to watch.

Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico may have the deepest group of DeeThreeLax connections in the tournament, with players representing programs across the DeeThree landscape.

Jourdain Algarin – Messiah

• One of the most notable current DeeThreeLax players in Kingston is Jourdain Algarin, who is coming off an outstanding 2026 season in goal for Messiah. Algarin earned USILA Honorable Mention All-American honors and MAC Commonwealth Goalie of the Year after starting all 16 games for the Falcons. He finished the season with 220 saves and a .588 save percentage while setting Messiah’s single-season saves record. He now gets the opportunity to take that success to the international stage with Puerto Rico.

Jaden Algarin – Goucher

• Joining Jourdain on Puerto Rico is Jaden Algarin, giving the roster another current DeeThreeLax connection through Goucher.

Matt Chlastawa – Bates

• Longtime DeeThreeLax fans should certainly recognize this name. Matt Chlastawa put together one of the best offensive careers in Bates history, finishing his time with the Bobcats as the program’s all-time points leader with 284 career points on 142 goals and 142 assists.
• Chlastawa brings considerable experience to a Puerto Rico roster featuring an interesting combination of current college players and established veterans.

Wilfredo Crispin – Kean

• Another current DeeThreeLax player representing Puerto Rico is Wilfredo Crispin of Kean. Crispin appeared in 16 games during the 2026 season and went 104-for-240 at the faceoff X while collecting 41 ground balls. He also brings previous international experience after representing Puerto Rico at the 2025 U20 World Championship.

Mark Davison – Christopher Newport

• One of the biggest current DeeThreeLax names in the entire tournament is Christopher Newport defenseman Mark Davison. Davison has developed into one of the top close defenders in DeeThreeLax, recording 30-plus caused turnovers in each of the last two seasons. Now fans get a chance to see what that game looks like against international competition.

Will Mercado – Christopher Newport

• Davison isn’t the only Captain on the Puerto Rico roster. Former Christopher Newport attackman Will Mercado gives CNU two representatives and adds another to a Puerto Rico roster loaded with DeeThreeLax.

Canada

• Canada’s roster understandably features players from some of the biggest programs in college lacrosse, but the Tigers are represented as well.

Chase Strychaluk – RIT

• Chase Strychaluk is one of RITs current players on the Canadian roster. The RIT goalie enters the tournament as a senior and gives one of DeeThreeLax premier programs representation on one of the world’s premier national teams.

Taylor Jensen – RIT

• Strychaluk isn’t alone. Former RIT standout Taylor Jensen ’21 is also representing Canada, giving the Tigers two players in Kingston. RIT confirmed both Strychaluk and Jensen’s participation in the championship this week.

Haudenosaunee

The Haudenosaunee roster brings two more connections into the tournament.

Logan Lee – Tufts

• Logan Lee gives Tufts representation in Kingston as part of the Haudenosaunee roster. It’s another international connection for a Jumbos program that has become one of the most recognizable names in lacrosse.

Sakaronhiotane Thompson – SUNY Potsdam

• Sakaronhiotane Thompson adds another connection for the Haudenosaunee through SUNY Potsdam.

Colombia

Colombia is another team with a surprisingly strong presence from DeeThreeLax.

Kai Switlick – Williams

• Kai Switlick represents the next generation of talent competing in Kingston. Switlick appeared in five games during his first season at Williams in 2026 and scored his first collegiate goal against No. 1 Tufts. Now he’s adding international experience with Colombia before returning to the NESCAC.

Marcus Winn – Lycoming

• Former Lycoming midfielder Marcus Winn is no stranger to international lacrosse. Winn played four seasons with the Warriors and previously represented Colombia at the 2018 World Lacrosse Championship, bringing valuable experience to this year’s roster.

Sebastian Gomez – SUNY Oneonta

• Former SUNY Oneonta goalie Sebastian Gomez is another alum suiting up for Colombia. Gomez spent his collegiate career with the Red Dragons and now adds another SUNYAC guy to the Pan-American field.

Charlie Surrez – Hood

• Charlie Surrez rounds out the current group of Colombian connections through Hood College.

Mexico

Mexico’s roster gives us three more familiar programs.

Ricky Tinoco – Elmhurst

• Ricky Tinoco brings an Elmhurst player to Team Mexico.

Alonso Moralez – Illinois Wesleyan

• Alonso Moralez gives the Titans representation on the international stage through Mexico.

Ernie Melero – Tufts

• Ernie Melero adds another Tufts connection to the tournament while representing Mexico. Between Melero and Haudenosaunee’s Logan Lee, the Jumbos are another program with multiple connections competing in Kingston.

U.S. Virgin Islands

If Puerto Rico has one of the most interesting collections of current talent, the U.S. Virgin Islands might have the most intriguing group of alumni.

Dante Poli – Stockton

• Former Stockton star Dante Poli is one of the most recognizable names on the roster. Poli finished his Stockton career in 2023 after establishing himself as one of the most productive offensive players in program history. He broke the Ospreys’ career assists record and scored his 200th career goal in his final collegiate game.

Ben Duhoski – Denison

• Ben Duhoski starred defensively at Denison from 2015-18, earning 2017 NCAC Defensive Player of the Year, three First-Team All-NCAC selections and three USILA All-American honors. There’s also a direct connection between Duhoski and the country he’s representing: Denison listed his hometown as St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

Dane Bentley – SUNY Geneseo

• Former SUNY Geneseo player Dane Bentley adds another SUNYAC guy to the championship.

Calvin Fritsch – Aurora

• Calvin Fritsch brings an Aurora connection to the U.S. Virgin Islands after playing for the Spartans during the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

David Benjamin – New England College

• David Benjamin gives New England College representation on the U.S. Virgin Islands roster.

Isaiah Wilson – La Roche

• Isaiah Wilson rounds out the group with a connection to La Roche.

One of the best parts about following DeeThreeLax is seeing just how far the game reaches beyond the teams we watch every spring. This tournament is another example. RIT. Christopher Newport. Tufts. Messiah. Bates. Williams. Stockton. Denison. Kean. Lycoming. Geneseo. Aurora. Different conferences. Different regions. Different eras. Now they’re connected by the same international tournament.

Some of these players are still building their careers. Others finished playing college lacrosse years ago. Some were among the best players in the country during their time on campus. This week, they’re representing something bigger.

And for the current players in particular, the experience is pretty unique. Players who will return to competing for conference championships and NCAA Tournament bids next spring are currently sharing the field with professional players and some of the best international talent in the world.

That’s 23 players with DeeThreeLax connections across six different national teams on our current list. The United States, Jamaica and Argentina do not currently appear to have connected players on their championship rosters.

The tournament runs through August 23, with five countries ultimately punching their tickets to the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in Tokyo. We’ll be keeping an eye on the DeeThreeLax guys throughout the week to see who makes an impact,  and who earns the opportunity to represent their country on an even bigger stage next summer.
