Five Teams Share 2026 NCAC Title in Historic Finish

It doesn’t get much crazier than this. As the dust settled on the 2026 regular season, the North Coast Athletic Conference delivered one of the wildest finishes you’ll ever see in DeeThreeLax: a five-way tie for the conference championship. As the dust settled on the 2026 regular season, the North Coast Athletic Conference delivered one of the wildest finishes you’ll ever see in DeeThreeLax: a five-way tie for the conference championship.

When everything shook out, Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops, Denison Big Red, Oberlin Yeomen, College of Wooster Fighting Scots, and Kenyon Owls, all finished 6-2 in conference play, creating a logjam at the top of the standings.

Instead of one champion, the NCAC crowned five co-champions, a rare and historic outcome that perfectly captures how competitive this league has been all spring.

Tournament Picture: Brutal Tiebreakers

With only four spots available in the NCAC Tournament, tiebreakers came into play, and they didn’t come easy.

  • No. 1 Seed: Oberlin Yeomen men’s lacrosse
  • No. 2 Seed: Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops men’s lacrosse
  • No. 3 Seed: Denison Big Red men’s lacrosse
  • No. 4 Seed: College of Wooster Fighting Scots men’s lacrosse

That leaves Kenyon Owls men’s lacrosse as the odd team out, a co-champion that won’t even get a shot in the conference tournament. Probably the first and one of the only times you will see a regular season co champion not make their conference tournament.

History Made:

This year’s title adds to the legacy of some of the conference’s heavyweights:

  • Ohio Wesleyan: 23rd NCAC title
  • Denison: 23rd NCAC title
  • Wooster: 2nd NCAC title

For Oberlin and Kenyon, this season represents a major step forward and a sign that the balance of power in the NCAC is as wide open as ever.

This is what makes DeeThreeLax different.

Five teams. Same record. Same title. And one of them doesn’t even get a postseason game.

The 2026 NCAC regular season was chaos to say the least, it had complete parity across the board. Heading into the conference tournament there is no clear favorite. If the regular season showed us anything, its anyone can beat anyone on any given day.

Buckle up, this is going to be a fun tournament to watch over the next week!
