Centenary College (LA)
During the 2024 Season Centenary College went 1-12 overall. Since they are not apart of a conference there was no conference record to report. Centenary College was able to scrap out a win against Spalding with a score of 16-2. They also had 2 one loss games against Earlham and Beloit. The Centenary roster appears to be light as they only have 14 men listed, this does not include incoming freshmen so I do expect there to be a few additions, but it looks like they will be a lean team this season. Last season Centenary posted an average goals for of 5.2 and an average goals against of 21.3. At the Faceoff X they went 35.5% on the season. This year Centenary College hopes to string together a stronger performance in their 2025 season. A big part of putting together a stronger season will be on the returners from last season. On the offensive side of the ball Centenary is returning their leading point scorer in Jordan Cook (M) who put up 27 points with 21 Goals and 6 Assists. Ethan Hewett (M) returns for Centenary who was second on the team a season ago in points with 26, 19 goals, and 7 Assists. Tied with Hewett last season for second points was G’Colby Spivey (A) who also had 26 points with 22 goals and 4 assists. Spivey is also back for Centenary and looking to build off what he put together last season. Rounding out key returners for Centenary on the offensive side of the ball is Dominic Ogier who collected 18 points across 2 goals and 16 assists in 2024. On Defense Centenary will look to lean on Jackson Ossman (32 GBS,11 CTS), Thomas Jordan (23 GBs, 8 CTS) and Kaleb Coates (3 GBs, 6 CTs). While the roster does look like for Centenary they are returning most of the impactful offense from a season ago and the some key players on defense. Dylan Miller also returns in net for Centenary who posted 171 saves and a 53% save percentage on the season. I believe that this centenary team will be improved from last season and if they find themselves in tight 1 goal games they can come out the other side with a win this season. Schedule is not released yet so no games to highlight that might be worth checking out for Centenary at this time.
Colorado College
Colorado College is no stranger to winning and putting together strong season after strong season. During the 2024 campaign the Tigers went 8-6 and missed the NCAA tournament for the first time since the 2019 season. Tigers looking to get back to the NCAA tournament once again in 2025. The Tigers are getting ready for the 2025 season with some strong fall ball opponents. This fall the Tigers took on the D1 University of Denver and National MCLA runners up Utah Valley. Seems like things are moving in the right direction for the Tigers this season and a good sign for the Tigers in 2025 is they return their leading point scorer from a season ago in Thomas Power. Power also received All American Honorable mention with his 57 points across 38 Goals and 18 Assists. Matt Husdon will also be back after a strong freshmen season where he posted 45 points with 39 goals and 6 assists. Rounding out the key returners on offense for the Tigers is Braydon Ellis. Ellis strung together a solid season with 29 points with 24 goals and 5 assists and will look to build on that momentum ad help lift this Tigers team in 2025. On the defensive side of the ball The Tigers will look to keep things rolling from a season ago with Roman Tacelli and Jake Moshang returning. Last season Roman Tacelli posted 14 CTs and 25 GBs, while Jake Moshang went for 13 CTs and 29 GBs. No doubt that these two will look to anchor the defense this season. A question mark for the Tigers this season will be in Goal, both netminders from a season ago appear to have graduated so they will need to backfill that leadership on the defensive side of the ball.
For an Independent school located in Colorado this team does not shy away from competition, which is really no surprise based of the culture of winning Colorado College displays each year. This season the Tigers have big games in February to start the season against Hope, Kenyon, and John Carroll who were all NCAA tournament teams a season ago. In March the Tigers square up with Aurora, St. John Fisher, Illinois Wesleyan, and Elmhusrt. To finish the season in April the tigers have Endicott. Looking at this schedule there are no easy wins for this Tigers team. I expect this Tigers team to be a very solid team, while they have a challenging schedule no one playing the Tigers this season should take them lightly. I expect they will run with almost every team they are playing and will have a real shot at pulling out some big wins this season.
Hilbert College
The Hilbert College Hawks coming off a 3-7 record during the 2024 season. The Hawks pulled out wins against SUNY Cobleskill and La Roche who they beat twice during the 2024 season. They also dropped a 1 goal game against Thiel and battled Bryn Athyn in a tight 7-9 loss. Hilbert looking to put together an improved season from the 2024 season to the 2025 campaign. A few key returners will be big for Hilbert taking a step forward, those guys include Joey DiMaria 35 points (23 Goals, 12 Assists), Jason Sage 22 points ( 17 Goals, 5 Assists), Aidan Franko 17 points (12 Goals, 5 Assists), Kristopher Newman 13 points ( 9 Goals, 4 Assists), and Ethan Barlow 10 points (3 Goals, 8 Assists. All of these guys made contributions in the 2024 season and will help set the tone for the 2025 season. On defense Hilbert is in good hands with Joseph Gorman and Mason Shehadi returning. Gorman put together a strong season posting 36 CTs and 47 GBs, while Shehadi went 12 CTs and 24 GBs in 2024. Keep and eye on Ladin Piniewski and Taivaughn Roach who will play a big role on defense for the Hawks this season. Griffin Miller is back between the pipes who posted a 63% save percentage and made 368 saves on the season, this will be a big piece that will bode well for the Hawks in 2025. Hilbert has not yet released their 2025 schedule but looking at previous seasons they typically play La Roche which I will earmark as a good game to watch for the Hawks.
La Roche
La Roche is coming off a challenging 2024 season where they went 0-12. They will definitely look to make big strides in the 2025 season and collect their first win in 3 seasons. Richard Reichenbach is in his second year at the helm of La Roche who has already made strides with the program on the recruiting front. This season La Roche brings in 10 new players who will look to make an immediate impact. When we asked Reichenbach about his outlook on the 2025 season, he had this to say:
“We’re excited and optimistic to watch our ten freshmen compete this spring, taking meaningful steps to drive our program forward. Their hard work and dedication with our returning players look to make an impact.”
Additionally, Reichenbach mentioned the key return of goalkeeper Connor Radecki who started all 12 games last season as a sophomore and made 252 saves. Reichenbach told DeeThreeLax that on the offensive side of the ball Ben Cadamore (midfield) and Rob Johnson (Attack) will be impact players throughout the season helping to lead the younger players joining La Roche. Cadamore was a workhorse a season ago at midfield scooping 40 GBs. Johnson posted 8 points with 7 goals and 1 assist and collected 29 GBs. The La Roche schedule has not been released but we are excited to see how the incoming players help La Roche. Stay tuned throughout the season for updates.
