Greensboro College has announced the promotion of Drew Sizemore as the ninth head coach in the history of the Pride men’s lacrosse program. Sizemore moves into the head coaching role after spending the 2026 season as an assistant at Greensboro, helping guide the Pride to a 12-win campaign that tied the program record for wins in a season. Despite being early in his coaching career, Sizemore is already familiar with both the program and the DeeThreeLax landscape in North Carolina.

Before joining the Greensboro staff, Sizemore played five seasons at nearby Guilford College from 2020-25, establishing himself as one of the top defensive players in program history. He finished his career with 112 caused turnovers, the second-most in Guilford history. Sizemore brought that defensive background to Greensboro when he joined the Pride coaching staff ahead of the 2026 season. The impact showed statistically, as Greensboro improved across several defensive categories. The Pride recorded 181 caused turnovers in 2026 after finishing with 155 the previous season, an increase of nearly 17 percent.

Sizemore also played a role in putting together Greensboro’s incoming recruiting class, giving him an established foundation as he transitions into the head coaching position. “We are excited to announce the hiring of Drew Sizemore as our next men’s lacrosse head coach,” Director of Athletics Jerry Fisk said. “Drew has brought a lot to the program over the past year serving as an assistant coach, while also being a key part of a strong recruiting class for the upcoming season.” Fisk added that Sizemore’s “strong passion and vision” for the program made him a strong choice to lead the Pride moving forward.

Sizemore takes over for former head coach Nate Bates, who gave Sizemore his first opportunity in collegiate coaching. In his introductory statement, Sizemore thanked Bates for his mentorship and credited him with helping prepare him for the opportunity to become a head coach. “It is an incredible honor to be named the head coach of the Greensboro College men’s lacrosse program,” Sizemore said. “I am truly grateful for the trust and confidence that has been placed in me, and I am excited for the opportunity to lead a program with such tremendous potential.” Sizemore outlined a vision centered around accountability, toughness and selflessness, with an emphasis on developing the Pride both on and off the field. “Our vision is to build a culture rooted in accountability, toughness, and selflessness while competing with relentless effort every day,” Sizemore said. “We will challenge our student-athletes to pursue excellence on the field, in the classroom, and throughout the Greensboro community.”

Sizemore inherits a Greensboro program coming off one of the most successful seasons in school history. After matching the program record with 12 victories in 2026, the Pride will now look to build on that momentum under a familiar face who was already part of the program’s recent success.
