Swarthmore V. York 

A big midweek non-conference matchup is set as York takes on Swarthmore, featuring two teams that have started the 2026 season playing strong lacrosse. 

York has looked sharp early this season, producing 40 goals while allowing 32 through its opening stretch. The Spartans have been efficient offensively and have generated strong shot numbers, averaging nearly 37 shots per game while converting on over 27% of their attempts. 

Swarthmore enters the matchup with a 5-1 record and has been one of the stronger early-season teams in the Centennial Conference. The Garnet have averaged nearly 15 goals per game while allowing just over nine, showing a balanced approach on both sides of the ball. 

These teams met last season in a thriller, with York earning an 11-10 overtime victory after overcoming a 6-0 deficit in the first quarter. That dramatic finish adds another layer of intrigue heading into this year’s matchup.

Expect a competitive game between two teams capable of scoring in bunches. If York can dictate tempo and capitalize on extra-man opportunities, the Spartans could control the game. But if Swarthmore’s offense continues its early-season production, the Garnet have the firepower to keep this one tight into the fourth quarter.

York

  • Davis Fisher– 11 points and One of York’s primary scoring threats and a key piece of the Spartans’ offensive production.
  • Gavin Gismondi â€“ 11 points and another go to option for York when they are in need of goals. 
  • Nate Schilling â€“ 11 Points and another threat who contributes both as a scorer and a facilitator. 

Swarthmore

  • Clay Almgren â€“ 30 points on the season and A key offensive driver for the Garnet who helps initiate scoring opportunities.
  • Ryder Matson â€“ 19 points and another strong presence for the Swarthmore offense who can help add goals when needed against York on Wednesday. 
  • Rex Mabbs â€“ 18 Points and the third piece to this three headed monster for Swarthmore. Expect Mabbs to be in the mix and helping push Swarthmore against York. 

 

Amherst V. Babson 

Early season battle in New England on tap Amherst takes on Babson, featuring two top teams in the country look to secure another statement win heading deeper into the spring schedule. 

Amherst enters the game looking to establish rhythm before the heart of NESCAC conference play. Amherst enters the match up with a 1-1 record. The Mammoths have traditionally relied on disciplined defense and efficient offensive possessions, often controlling games with strong goalie play and balanced scoring across the lineup.

Babson has started its 2026 campaign in impressive fashion. The Beavers come into action with a 4-0 record on the season with an impressive 16-12 over RIT. showcasing an efficient offense that converted at a high rate while also controlling ground balls and possession throughout the game. 

This matchup should be a good test for both programs. Amherst will look to slow the game down and rely on its defensive structure, while Babson’s early-season offense suggests the Beavers may try to push tempo and generate scoring runs.

Players to Watch

Amherst

  • Willie Doyle â€“ 5 points A key offensive leader capable of creating opportunities and finishing around the crease.
  • Thompson Lau â€“ 2 CTs, 5 GBs A difference-maker on the defensive side of the field who can keep Amherst competitive against high-volume offenses.
  • Sam Sneider â€“ 3 CTs, 8 GBs, Leading the Amherst defense to start the season and will be a big piece of slowing down the Babson offense on Wednesday. 

Babson

  • Joey Allen â€“ 15 points and a proven offensive leader who is one of the go to offensive threats for Babson this season that will look to score early and often against Amherst. 
  • Braden Reilly â€“ 14 points and another offensive catalyst for the Beavers who will play a big role Wednesday afternoon. 

St. Mary’s (MD) V. Randolph Macon 

Another good match up taking place Wednesday afternoon as St. Mary’s (MD) hosts Randolph-Macon in a game featuring two teams that have already picked up quality wins this season.

St. Mary’s opened its 2026 campaign with a 4-2 record with wins over Hampden Sydney and Maritime. The Seahawks have shown an ability to generate solid offensive production while relying on a balanced lineup and steady goalie play early in the season. 

Randolph-Macon enters the matchup with a 5-2 record with wins over Sewanee, Ursinus, Mary Washington, Washington college, and a 3 OT loss to Hampden Sydney.  The Yellow Jackets have been effective offensively, generating scoring runs and controlling possession in key stretches of games. 

The two teams played a classic last season, with St. Mary’s narrowly defeating Randolph-Macon 11-10 in a tightly contested matchup. That result adds some extra intrigue heading into this year’s meeting.

Expect another competitive game. If Randolph-Macon can continue its early offensive momentum, the Yellow Jackets could push the pace. But if St. Mary’s can dictate tempo and rely on its defensive structure, the Seahawks will be tough to beat at home.

Players to Watch

St. Mary’s (MD)

  • Gavin Mckay â€“ 26 points and a go to offensive threat who helps drive the Seahawks’ scoring production.
  • Declan Horton â€“ 20 Points and another Seahawk pushing tempo and creating offensive production that will push the Randolph Macon defense on Wednesday afternoon. 
  • Joe Szymanski â€“ 15 CTs, 28 GBs, and a big presence on the defensive side of the field for the Seahawks that will be slowing down the Randolph Macon offense. 

Randolph-Macon

  • Grant Sobel â€“ 20 Points and One of the Yellow Jackets’ top offensive weapons and a consistent scoring threat. 
  • Matt Carter â€“ 18 points and A physical midfielder who contributes both offensively and in transition.
  • Mike Allen â€“ 23 CTs, 35 GBs, 8 points and one of the best on Randolph Macon who can do it all. Keep an eye on Allen both defensively and offensively as he will make an impact against the Seahawks on Wednesday. 

 

Illinois Wesleyan V. Baldwin Wallace

A Midwest matchup is set as Illinois Wesleyan takes on Baldwin Wallace, featuring two programs that have started out strong in 2026.

Illinois Wesleyan has been one of the stronger programs in the Midwest in recent years and is coming off an impressive 14-3 season in 2025, where the Titans dominated conference play and reached the NCAA Tournament. Illinois Wesleyan opens the 2026 season with a 4-2 record. The recent success has continued to build momentum for a program that consistently generates strong offensive production while controlling possession at the faceoff and ground-ball battles.

Baldwin Wallace enters the matchup also 4-2 on the season, showing the ability to score efficiently while playing a balanced style. The Yellow Jackets have already produced 72 goals on 224 shots, averaging over 37 shots per game while converting at a .321 shooting percentage. 

This matchup could come down to pace and execution. Illinois Wesleyan typically thrives when the offense is moving the ball quickly and generating high shot totals, while Baldwin Wallace has shown the ability to keep games competitive with efficient scoring and strong possession play.

If the Titans can dictate tempo early, they could create separation offensively. But if Baldwin Wallace can capitalize on shooting efficiency and control possessions, the Yellow Jackets could keep this game tight deep into the fourth quarter.

Illinois Wesleyan

  • Timothy McHugh â€“ 16 points and a key offensive leader for the Titans who helps drive their scoring production and will be a big piece of the production against Baldwin Wallace. 
  • Billy McHugh- 17 CTs, 12 GBs and A versatile defender who gets up and down the field adding 3 points so far this season. 

Baldwin Wallace

  • Bennet Trout â€“ 25 points on the season and has produced strong early scoring numbers and will be crucial in keeping pace with IWU.
  • Noah Dodgion â€“ 24 points and Strong play so far this season could be the difference against Illinois Wesleyan’s defense. 

 

Albright V. Neumann 

A solid tilt taking place in PA Wednesday afternoon as Albright hosts Neumann, with both teams looking to build momentum early in the 2026 season.

Albright opened the year with a tough 16–6 loss to FDU-Florham, but there were bright spots for the Lions offensively. Attackman Nick Antonio led the way with three goals and an assist, surpassing 100 career points during the game and continuing to be a key piece of Albright’s offense. Albright is currently 1-4 on the season and most recently collecting a win against Delaware Valley. 

The Lions will look to build on that performance and find more offensive rhythm as the season progresses. Historically, Albright has had success against Neumann, holding a 2–0 advantage in the all-time series, including an 11–4 win in the most recent meeting in 2013. 

Neumann enters the matchup aiming to establish consistency early in its schedule. The Knights are currently 0-4 on the season and looking to get the first W in the win Column. Coming off a tough 7-13 loss to Alvernia Neumann will be dialed in and ready for Albright.  The Knights have shown the ability to generate offense in recent seasons and will look to push the pace while capitalizing on transition opportunities.

With both teams searching for momentum, expect a competitive game where possession battles and shot efficiency could determine the outcome.

Players to Watch

Albright

  • Nick Antonio- 18 points on the season and a proven offensive leader who recently surpassed 100 career points and will be central to the Lions’ scoring attack. 
  • Justin Moroney– 16 Points, A offensive contributor who could help provide additional scoring depth for Albright Wednesday afternoon. 

Neumann

  • Luke Sykes â€“ 6 Points, A key scoring threat who has produced goals in recent games and helps anchor the Knights’ offense. 
  • Cooper Dee â€“ 6 Points, also has seen Strong play this year for Neumann and will look to keep Albrights defense on their toes. 
  • Connor Hurley – 6 Points, rounding out the key offensive contributors for Neumann is Hurley who will look to get things going Wednesday afternoon. 

 

Wheaton V. Mass Maritime 

Another New England showdown taking place on Wednesday between Wheaton takes on Mass. Maritime. 

Wheaton enters the matchup with a 5-1 record and wins against  programs like Roger Williams and the University of New England. The Lyons will look to get back on track after a tough a game with a very good Bates team.

 

Mass. Maritime, meanwhile, comes into action with a 2-0 record with wins against Jonson & Wales and Manhattanville. With the recent win over Manhattanville, the Buccaneers controlled possession with 56 ground balls and efficient clearing, showing their ability to dictate tempo in games. 

 

This matchup could come down to pace. If Wheaton can slow the game down and rely on its defensive structure, the Lyons could control possession and limit scoring chances. But if Mass. Maritime’s offense continues generating high shot totals, the Buccaneers could turn this into a fast-paced game.

Players to Watch

Wheaton (MA)

  • Theo Stamatel â€“ 26 points, a consistent force for the Wheaton offense this season that be a big part of the production on Wednesday.
  • Evan Paturzo â€“ 20 points, a staple of this offense that has helped pushed the tempo and find goals.

Mass. Maritime

  • Daniel Kane â€“ 7 Points, Mass. Maritime has shown the ability to score goals this season and Kane is one of the guys leading the charge.
  • Ryan McDonough â€“  7 points, McDonough has been another leader on this offense and finding production this season.
  • Quinn Mucha – 7 Points, and rounding out the Mass Maritime key production. Mucha will also play a big role on Wednesday to keep this offense humming.
