Anything You Feel the Lacrosse Community Should Know About This Team:
“Cortland Back in Top 10 in Nation”
DeeThreeLax Take: Cortland reloads in 2026 with the same expectations they carry every year play deep into May. Yes, the Red Dragons graduate a serious class from last season, but this Cortland will be ready. With Bowen anchoring the defense, Kavanagh and Cosgrove running the midfield, and Macknik controlling the faceoff X, the foundation is firmly in place. The non-conference gauntlet (St. Lawrence, RPI, Fisher, RIT, Ithaca, Scranton) will battle-test them early. Cortland is the clear favorite once again in the SUNYAC and set up for another deep run in the NCAA tournament in may.

Games that will test this team early:

- Farmingdale State
DeeThreeLax Take: Oswego is back in 2026 and is looking like a team that knows how it wants to play. The Lakers returns a steady group on offense and will look to control pace of play throughout the season. Having a familiar face between the pipes, that played well last season is an added bonus for this group. I believe the Lakers will once again be fighting for a trip to the SUNYAC tournament with the final destination of the SUNYAC title game.
Oneonta

Head Coach: Pete Owens

- Johnny Terrana – Defense – 10 CTs, 27 GBs, 3 Points
Games that will test this team early:
- St. John Fisher
- Skidmore
- Vassar
- Stevens
DeeThreeLax Take: Oneonta heads into 2026 with and electric offensive duo and that alone makes the Red Dragons ready to compete in the SUNYAC. Even with some key losses during the off season this team has more than enough production back in 2026 to make some noise in the SUNYAC. Keep an eye on Oneonta, if they get hot this season they will be a tough team to beat and I expect they will make a run in the SUNYAC tournament.
New Paltz

Head Coch: Kroy Arnold
2025 Overall Record: 6-11
2025 Conference Record: 3-4

- Killian Yombor – Attack – 13 Goals, 10 Assists, 23 Points
- Noah Reed – Defense – 19 CTs, 55 GBs, 1 Point
- Drew Hulede – Defense – 15 CTs, 58 GBs, 1 Point
- Yasin Tabatabaee – Defense – 10 CTs, 11 GBs, 1 Point
- Zach Novak – Goalie – 164 Saves
Games that will test this team early:
- Maritime
- Misericordia
- Mount Saint Vincent
- Mount Saint Mary
DeeThreeLax Take: New Paltz is going to look different offensively in 2026 after graduating a big chunk of midfield production, which means this group will need to redefine how they generate goals. Finn Smith, Blake Lyons, and Killian Yombor now become the focal points, and how quickly they elevate their games will shape the season. Defensively, there’s a solid backbone returning with Reed and Hulede, and Novak in goal gives them a chance to stay in tight contests. The early stretch against Maritime, Misericordia, and the Mount schools should let this team know where stand and build some momentum heading into the SUNYAC Action.
Plattsburgh

Head Coach: Zach Nedbalski
2025 Overall Record: 6-8
2025 Conference Record: 2-5

- Ryan Fahy I LSM I Transfer from Newberry College
- Connor Wiggins I Midfielder I Whitesboro High School
- Jacob Solimine I LSM I Transfer from West Conn
Games That Will Test This Team Early:
- Clarkson University
- Utica University
DeeThreeLax Take: Plattsburgh has some real pieces to build around in 2026, especially on the offensive end. Dylan Ruland and Peter Urso give the Cardinals a proven scoring duo, and if they get consistent support, this offense can keep them competitive most nights. The biggest question is at the faceoff after losing a record-setting presence, which could swing possession in tight SUNYAC games. With Whitlock leading the defense and some intriguing transfers in the mix, Plattsburgh feels like a team capable of pushing for a conference tournament spot if things break right.
Potsdam

Head Coach: Gill Conners
2025 Overall Record: 8-7
2025 Conference Record: 4-3
Key Losses:
- Cobie Cree – Attack – 29 Goals, 25 Assists, 54 Points
- Owen Walsh – Midfield – 34 Goals, 14 Assists, 48 Points
- Drew Rose – Midfield – 18 Goals, 13 Assists, 31 Points
- Ryan Hughes – Midfield – 11 Goals, 14 Assists, 25 Points
- Cole Slavin – Defense – 13 CTs, 23 GBs
Key Returners:
- Billy Kozloski – Attack – 24 Goals, 3 Assists, 27 Points
- Tommy Storrin – Defense – 18 CTs, 17 GBs, 4 Points
- Alex Farben- Griggs – Defense – 12 CTs, 38 GBs
Games that will test this team early:
- Brockport
- Hartwick
- Clarkson
DeeThreeLax Take: Potsdam has some retooling to do after graduating a large share of its offensive production, especially out of the midfield. Billy Kozloski now steps into the spotlight as the go-to option, but the Bears will need new faces to emerge quickly if they want to keep pace in a competitive SUNYAC. Defensively, there’s a solid foundation with Storrin and Farben-Griggs back, which should help keep games within reach. The early matchups with Brockport, Hartwick, and Clarkson will tell us a lot about whether this group can reload on the fly or if 2026 becomes more of a transition year.
Morrisville

Head Coach:
2025 Overall Record: 2-10
2025 Conference Record: 1-6
Key Losses:
- Curtis Robitaille – Midfield – 10 Goals, 12 Assists, 22 Points
Key Returners:
- Kyan Dohn – Attack – 23 Goals, 13 Assists, 36 Points
- Jason Tedeschi – Attack – 17 Goals, 17 Assists, 34 Points
- Dean Mohammed – Attack – 26 Goals, 7 Assists, 33 Points
- Daniel Squires – Defense – 11 CTs, 28 GBs, 22 Points
- Nicholas DeNicola – Defense – 8 CTs, 21 GBs, 20 Points
- Andrew Idzik – Defense – 29 CTs, 74 GBs
- Blake Dunton – Goalie – 156 Save, 59% Save Percentage
Games that will test this team early:
- Russell Sage
- SUNY Delhi
- Penn College
DeeThreeLax Take: Morrisville quietly brings back a trio that can flat-out score, and that alone makes them intriguing heading into 2026. Dohn, Tedeschi, and Mohammed give the Mustangs real offensive punch, and if they get rolling early, they’ll put pressure on just about anyone on the schedule. Defensively, Idzik anchors a unit that competes hard, and Dunton’s 59% save percentage in cage is a huge strength. If Morrisville can turn some of last year’s close games into wins, this feels like a team capable of surprising people in conference play.
Canton

Head Coach: Cam Talcott
2025 Overall Record: 1-12
2025 Conference Record: 0-7
Key Losses:
- Austin Mesler – Attack – 27 Goals, 16 Assists, 43 Points
Key Returners:
- Jonney Mclear – Midfield – 22 Goals, 6 Assists, 28 points
- Holden Hewlett – Defense – 20 CTs, 31 GBs, 2 Points
- Ray Lopez Jr. – 8 CTs, 10 GBs
- Dylan Munk – LSM – 8 CTs, 29 GB
- Hayden Todd – Goalie – 196 Saves
Games that will test this team early:
- SUNY Poly
- VTSU Castelton
DeeThreeLax Take: Canton heads into 2026 focused on bouncing back after a tough season. With a productive offense, experience on defense, and a goalie who’s already proven he can handle volume, there’s a foundation to build on. Early games will be important checkpoints to measure progress and confidence. If this team can tighten things up defensively and get more consistent offense around its top returners, the growth should be noticeable as the season goes on.
