DeeThreelax Take: Endicott has won the CNE the last two season and will try to make it a 3 peat in 2026. While they will be one of the top contenders for the CNE title they have a big uphill battle this season. It looks like they lost a ton of production with impact players from last season. Both ends of the field will need to be reloaded. The good news is that the CNE looks like it is pretty wide open this season and could very well see Endicott back on top, but they will need to find the right pieces early to build the momentum into CNE action.
Wentworth

Head Coach: Dan Russo

- Kyle Leger – Defense – 25 CTs, 46 GBs

- Dante Strong – Defense – 21 CTs, 38 GBs
Games that will test this team early:
- Babson
- John Carroll
- Colorado College
- Plymouth State
DeeThreelax Take: Wentworth has been building a strong program over the last few seasons and looks to continue the upward trajectory in 2026. Wentworth brings back a strong group which looks like it will be led by the veteran defensive unit. They will need to make up for the loss of Garnder between the pipes who put together a very strong 2025. The offense will be buzzing but Wentworth will need to find the right replacements for Vogt and Bouley who made up 132 points last season. Expect Wentworth to once be toward the top of the CNE and fighting for another trip to the CNE tournament Title game in May

Anything You Feel the Lacrosse Community Should Know About This Team:
“CNE very good conference, need to play great lacrosse to be competitive against every team in CNE. Endicott has won championship last two seasons. Goal is to keep improving on each year and play for a CNE Championship. This is the first year we are eligible for the NCAA Tournament since our transition from D1 back in 2022.”
DeeThreeLax Take: Hartford enters 2026 with real momentum and a sense that the window is opening. The Hawks return production at every level, including proven scoring, strong play at the faceoff X, and stability in goal. With NCAA Tournament eligibility now in play, expectations naturally rise in a deep and unforgiving CNE. If Hartford continues its year-over-year growth and handles a tough early slate, this group has the pieces to push toward a conference title and make some noise nationally.

DeeThreelax Take: WNE looks like they will be in a bit of rebuilding year in 2026 as they lost a lot of impact players from the 2025 Season. I have no doubt that WNE will be able to hold their own and compete within the CNE this year. Never count WNE out, If this group finds the missing pieces early and gets firing on all cylinders this team could make a run in the CNE tournament.
Roger Williams

- Aaron D’Aversa – Goalie – 179 Saves, 52% Save Percentage
Games that will test this team early:
- Salve Regina
- Wheaton
- Kean
DeeThreelax Take: Roger Williams comes into 2026 after a strong 2025 season going 5-3 in the challenging CNE conference. The challenge in 2026 is going to be reloading the offense, it looks like they lost a big chunk of their production from that 2025 team. They will have a young offense that will need to get up to speed quickly if they want compete at the top of the CNE again. The defense looks well positioned to help keep Roger Williams in games this season. If they get the offense going this group should once again find themselves in the CNE tournament.
University of New England

2025 Conference Record: 3-5
Key Losses:

Impact Newcomers (First-years, transfers, returns from injury)
- Declan Mulkerin FY Att projected starter
- Quin Gleason FY Mid projected to 2nd line midfield
- Sam Lacreta FY Defense expected key backup
Games that will test this team early:
- Plymouth State
- UMass Boston
DeeThreeLax Take: UNE heads into 2026 with a chance to turn the page after an up-and-down season, bringing back a veteran core across the field. Replacing a program-defining goalie will be the early question mark for the team, but the Nor’easters return proven production in the midfield and experience on defense to help steady the group. Early tests against strong opponents should give a quick read on where this team stands. If UNE’s returning leaders set the tone and the newcomers contribute early, this group has a real path to pushing into the conference playoff picture.
Johnson & Wales

Head Coach: Jeff Cohen
2025 Overall Record: 7-9
2025 Conference Record: 4-5
Key Losses:
- Donny McInnis – Attack – 24 Goals, 9 Assists, 33 Points

- Matthew Bancroft – Midfield – 27 Goals, 2 Assists, 29 Points
- Jack Donnelly – Midfield – 13 CTs, 10 Assists, 23 Points
- Trevor Reid – Defense – 15 CTs, 24 GBs, 3 Points
Games that will test this team early:
- Wheaton
- Keene St.
- Mass Maritime
- Plymouth State
DeeThreeLax Take: It will be Coach Cohens first year at the helm of Johnson & Wales and he will be looking to get things going early. Johnson & Wales heads into 2026 as a team that should be comfortable playing fast and leaning into its offense. With a proven playmaker back to run the show and multiple scoring options returning, the Wildcats won’t struggle to generate looks. The bigger question early will be how the defense and short-stick units settle in after key losses. If JWU can clean things up on the back end, this group has enough firepower to make noise in conference play and swing a few close games their way.

Anything You Feel the Lacrosse Community Should Know About This Team:
“This is the most talented team I have coached since taking over the program in 2022-23. Good mix of young players and returning veterans. The team is hungry to make a splash this season.”
DeeThreeLax Take: Curry enters 2026 with a much different look than the record might suggest, as the roster talent and internal confidence are trending up. The Colonels return key defensive pieces and experience in goal, while new starters and first-line midfield additions should inject pace and scoring. Early non-conference games will give this group a chance to show how quickly things have turned. If Curry’s mix of veterans and young talent clicks, this could be a team that surprises people and takes a real step forward in the CNE.
Nichols

Head Coach: Shayne Lynch
2025 Overall Record: 3-14
2025 Conference Record: 1-7
Key Losses:
- Cooper Melvin Defense
- Brady Morgan Goalie 2024 1st Team All Conference
- Dylan Derubeis Attack
Key Returners:

- Cole Goudreau LSM First Year
- Cam Ayotte Defense First Year
- Shea Buckley Defense First Year
- Max Leavitt SSDM First Year
Games That Will Test This Team Early:
- Lasell
- Coast Guard
- Umass Boston
DeeThreeLax Take: Nichols comes into the 2026 season in reset mode, with a new-look roster and several open competition spots across the field. Bringing in an experienced goalie and a wave of young defensive pieces should help stabilize the back end early. Offensively, this season will be about growth and finding reliable options as roles shake out. If the Bison can tighten things up defensively and take steps forward each week, 2026 can be a year of improvement and competing at a high level within the CNE each week.
Gordon

Head Coach: Zachary Scarano
2025 Overall Record: 1-11
2025 Conference Record: 0-8
Key Losses:
- William McCormick – LSM – 13 CTs, 39 GBs, 5 Points
Key Returners:
- Jackson Wright – Attack – 26 Goals, 7 Assists , 33 Points
- Caden Lake – Midfield – 6 Goals, 16 Assists, 22 Points
- Ryan Arthur – Attack – 18 Goals, 3 Assists, 21 Points
- Thomas De Haes – Defense – 12 CTs, 8 GBs
- Cullen Davey – Defense – 11 CTs, 22 GBs
- Caleb Parambil – LSM – 9 CTs, 22 GBs
- Aidan Walsh – FO – 55 % FO %, 76 GBs, 6 Points
Games that will test this team early:
- Maine Maritime
- Lasell
DeeThreelax Take: Gordon rolls into 2026 looking to build around a returning offensive core that can generate chances and keep games competitive. With experience back at the faceoff X and several defenders ready to take on larger roles, the early focus will be on tightening things up and finding consistency. Matchups early in the schedule should give a clear sense of progress. If Gordon can clean up possessions and stay connected defensively, this season can be about steady growth and setting a stronger foundation moving forward.
